Refund Policy

Overview

At Utyl Labs (“we,” “us,” “our”), we provide custom web development, ecommerce solutions, integrations, and digital services tailored to each client’s specific needs. Due to the custom and service-based nature of our work, refunds are limited and subject to the terms outlined below.

Deposits & Upfront Payments

All upfront payments, deposits, or setup fees are non-refundable. These payments secure project scheduling, resource allocation, and initial work such as planning, research, design, and development setup.

Services Rendered

Once work has begun on a project, refunds will not be issued for services already performed, including but not limited to:

  • Discovery and strategy sessions

  • Design work

  • Development or coding

  • Platform configuration

  • Integrations and third-party setup

  • Consulting or technical guidance

Project Cancellation

If the Client chooses to cancel a project:

  • The Client is responsible for payment of all work completed up to the cancellation date.

  • Any remaining unused balance (if applicable and not tied to completed milestones) may be refunded at Utyl Labs’ discretion.

Milestone-Based Projects

For projects structured with milestones:

  • Payments tied to completed milestones are non-refundable.

  • Payments for future, unstarted milestones may be eligible for a partial refund.

Subscription & Ongoing Services

For ongoing services such as maintenance, support, or consulting subscriptions:

  • Clients may cancel at any time with written notice.

  • No refunds are provided for the current billing period once it has started.

  • Services will remain active until the end of the paid period.

Third-Party Costs

Refunds do not apply to third-party costs, including but not limited to:

  • Platform fees (e.g., Shopify, Stripe, hosting providers)

  • Paid plugins, themes, or licenses

  • API usage fees
    These costs are governed by the respective third-party providers’ refund policies.

Exceptions

Refunds may be considered only if:

  • No work has started on the project, and

  • A written refund request is submitted within 2 days of payment.

Approval of any exception is at the sole discretion of Utyl Labs.

Chargebacks

Clients agree to contact Utyl Labs directly before initiating a chargeback. Unauthorized chargebacks may result in immediate suspension of services and legal action if necessary.
