Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This policy explains what we collect when you visit utyllabs.com or get in touch, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. We keep this short because we genuinely collect very little.
Who is responsible for your data
Utyl Labs LLC ("Utyl Labs"), registered in the United States at 2453 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne, Florida, United States, is the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at hello@utyllabs.com about anything in this policy.
What we collect
When you submit the contact form we collect the details you type into it:
- Your name and email address, which are required so we can reply.
- Your company name and the type of work you need, if you fill them in.
- Whatever you write in the project details field.
When you book a call, Calendly collects the details you give it, including your name, email, and chosen time slot.
When you browse the site, we collect anonymous usage statistics through Umami: pages viewed, referring site, approximate country, browser, and device type. Umami does not use cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not track you across other websites. We cannot identify you from it.
We run ads on Google Ads and use the Google tag on this site to measure them. It records which pages you visit, whether you arrived from one of our ads, and whether you went on to send the contact form. Google collects your IP address and browser details to do this and stores identifiers in cookies. It does not receive what you type into the form.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
The Google tag sets advertising cookies, such as _gcl_au, so Google Ads can tell whether a visit that started from one of our ads led to an enquiry. These last up to 90 days. The site also sets one functional cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, which remembers whether you chose English or Spanish. Calendly may set its own cookies when you open a booking page. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage how Google uses your data for ads at adssettings.google.com.
Why we use it and on what basis
We use your contact details only to respond to your enquiry, discuss your project, and send you an estimate. Where the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
We use anonymous analytics to understand which parts of the site are useful, on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving it. Because the data is not personal, it does not identify you.
We use Google Ads measurement to see which ads bring in enquiries, on the basis of our legitimate interest in spending our advertising budget well.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build a profile of you. Google receives the measurement data described above, not your contact details or messages.
Who processes it for us
A small number of providers handle data on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:
- Resend, which delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Calendly, which handles call scheduling.
- Umami Cloud, which provides anonymous website analytics.
- Google, which provides Google Ads and the Google tag. Google also uses this data under its own privacy policy, at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Fly.io, which hosts the website.
We are based in the United States, and these providers process your data there. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region that restricts international data transfers, that means your data leaves your country. Where those rules apply, the transfer relies on the safeguards these providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails stay in our inbox for as long as the conversation is relevant, and for up to two years afterwards so we have a record of what was discussed. If you become a client, your details are kept for as long as we work together and for the period our tax and accounting obligations require.
Anonymous analytics are retained in aggregate and are not tied to you.
Google Ads measurement data is kept according to Google's retention settings, and the cookies expire after at most 90 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to us processing it on the basis of legitimate interest. We honour these requests for anyone who asks, wherever you are.
Email hello@utyllabs.com and we will respond within one month. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. If you are unhappy with how we handled it and you are covered by a data protection authority, you can complain to it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
